Celebrating our Nurse Practitioners: Happy NP Week!

The second week of November marks National Nurse Practitioner Week—a time when we proudly recognize our team of nurse practitioners who are committed to serving our patients with the utmost care here at Abilene Primary Care.

At APC, we operate as a unified team. Our diverse mix of medical doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are all essential, working collaboratively to serve as the backbone of our comprehensive, accessible primary care.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse practitioners combine a strong foundation in patient-centered nursing with extensive graduate-level education and clinical training. This dual expertise allows them to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary and acute care.

In the primary care setting, our nurse practitioners are qualified to:

  • Diagnose and Treat: Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.

  • Order and Interpret Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests.

  • Prescribe Medication: Prescribe medications and other treatments.

  • Provide Preventive Care: Perform annual physicals, well-woman exams, and preventive screenings.

Thank You to Our Dedicated Nurse Practitioners!

We extend our deepest gratitude to our team of NPs for their dedication to our patients. Caitlin, we commend you, and we thank you for your commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Abilene Primary Care wouldn't be the same without you!
